Classes at Home

March Break this year was a busy one for the staff of King’s as we pivoted, in response to the school closures due to COVID-19, to offering all of King’s classes virtually.  The Monday after March Break, King’s began Classes at Home with our students following the timetable as though they were at school.  We are delighted with the great learning that continues to happen, even if the location of that learning has shifted!  During the school closures, all King’s students are continuing their education doing Classes at Home. All King’s students will be able to get their credits and will be well prepared for the coming grade or, for our grads, for first year university. We are so grateful to our amazing faculty who are ensuring that all classes are being held every day at the regular times by using virtual meetings, Microsoft Teams, phone calls, texts, and emails.

“I just want to mention again how successful the ‘Classes At Home’ learning has been for my son and daughter. It was seamless and we are all very pleased. Thank you to you and all the staff!!”Angie

Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day was so much fun at King’s. The elementary students organized a dress down day (one could wear red, pink, or white) and the sale of Oreograms (for 10 cents each, one could send an Oreo to other students or to a teacher to celebrate Valentine’s Day) in support of our sister school in Cameroon. The student committee spent an entire day packaging the Oreograms as over 3,000 Oreos were sold! The elementary students also organized the number of games for everyone – teachers and high school students included. A great day was had by all.

Kortright Centre for Conservation

The Grade 9 and 10 Green Industries class spent a day at the Kortright Centre studying climate change and touring two examples of Net Zero homes.  It was fascinating to learn about what could be done to reduce our own carbon footprint in our homes.

Lil’ Red Robin Hood

On December 10th, 2019, King’s Students will have the pleasure of watching another Ross Petty pantomime production entitled Lil’ Red Robin Hood.

The show features Robert Markus, the star of DEAR EVAN HANSEN,  AJ Bridel, the star of KINKY BOOTS, SNOW WHITE and A CHRISTMAS CAROL, and everyone’s favourite farceur Eddie Glen.

The adventure begins in 2019 Toronto where our hero, Lil’ Red, is magically transported to the 16th century and lands in Sherway Gardens Forest. Robin Hood, Maid Marion, and Friar Tuck join Lil’ Red in defeating the evil Sheriff of Naughtyham. Start practicing your boos!

With their pop tunes, ad libs and raucous audience participation, our shows have introduced the magic of live theatre to thousands of delighted children. To learn more about this show click here
