King’s Photo Contest

This month, King’s held a photo contest for both junior and senior students. The turnout was tremendous and the competition was tough! Congratulations to all the winners! Here are a few of the winning photos.

A big thank you goes out to Gurtej and his committee for organizing this awesome event! 📸💙

Mastery Celebration

Today, we recognized the academic accomplishments of our students from the last two years!

COVID has put a damper on our ability to have our annual Awards Ceremony Banquet and Prom, so that resulted in a very much scaled-down Mastery Awards ceremony! Those who earned Mastery (an average of 80% or better on their final report card last June or the year before) will finally be able to wear their Mastery Ties and/or their Mastery pins after today. 👔❤️

Happy Diwali!

Happy Diwali! All students from grade 2 to grade 12 came together outside to learn about and celebrate the festival of lights, Diwali.

A big thank you goes out to Gurtej in Grade 10 who gracefully educated us with an extremely well-written speech! We would also like to recognize Mrs. Sandher and Ms. Khanna for organizing such an amazing event and bringing in individually packaged samosas and traditional sweets for the whole school! Love and light to all! 🕯❤️

Pumpkin Chuckin’ Contest

As a start to our Halloween celebration last Friday, our grade 11 & 12 physics class (and Mr. Hahn!) created slingshots to see who could fling mini pumpkins the farthest and hardest at a castle our junior students built!

Congratulations to Scott on the big win! 🎃☄️

Our Annual Haliburton Trip

Last week, our senior students had the opportunity to head up to Haliburton Forest for our annual leadership retreat!

Lots of team-building activities and fun brought our physical and virtual schools closer together 💙 We can’t wait for next year!

Virtual Graduation Ceremonies

Due to these unprecedented time, we will be celebrating our Grade 8 and Grade 12 graduates online through a virtual ceremony!

Grade 8 Ceremony: June 11 @ 6PM

Grade 12 Ceremony: June 19 @ 2PM

Please keep an eye out for the ZOOM link that will be sent to you the day before the event.  Feel free to forward the ZOOM link to relatives and friends with whom you would like to share this magnificent milestone!

Dress Down Day on Friday!

The students are engaged in their House Competitions to determine which House will win the House Cup this year. Each child in the school has been placed in one of the four King’s Houses: House Eta, House Mitchner, House Bradshaw or House Lord.
For House points this year, each student is being asked to wear their House colour this Friday.  The House will be awarded points based on the number of people in their House wearing their House colour. Each House is based on an element and the House colours are based on the element for the House. Please encourage your child to wear the House colour if he or she can on Friday, rather than the school uniform.

The colours are as follows:

House Eta Wind – White

House Mitchner Water – Blue

House Bradshaw Fire – Red

House Lord Earth – Green
